Congress Raises Voice Over Water & Power Crisis, Submits Deputation To Dharmanagar Sub-Divisional Magistrate.

Dharmanagar, Tripura, 28th of April 2026 : The Congress has raised concerns over the prolonged water and electricity crisis in Dharmanagar subdivision of North Tripura. Highlighting the hardships faced by common people, party leaders submitted a deputation to the Sub-Divisional Magistrate of Dharmanagar.

The delegation included Pradesh Congress Committee member Chayan Bhattacharjee along with several leaders from the Dharmanagar District Congress.During the deputation, Congress leaders alleged that drinking water supply has been regularly disrupted in various sub-urban areas of Dharmanagar, while electricity services have also become highly irregular. As a result, residents are facing severe difficulties on a daily basis. They further stated that the crisis has worsened significantly during the summer season. Additionally, the leaders drew attention to the poor condition of the main road at Dewanpasha along the Dharmanagar–Kailashahar route.

They claimed that potholes and the dilapidated state of the road have increased the risk of daily accidents, and demanded immediate repair work.Taking an indirect dig at the ruling party, Congress leaders said, “Despite tall claims of development, in reality, people are still deprived of basic services.” Through the deputation, they urged the administration to take prompt and necessary steps to resolve these issues.Sources said that the administration has assured that the matter will be examined and appropriate measures will be taken.Local residents are hopeful that with administrative intervention, these problems will be resolved soon and normal services will be restored in Dharmanagar.
