Agartala, Tripura 5th of May, 2026 : On specific information of the Government Railway Police (GRP), Railway Protection Force (RPF) secret operation was launched in Agartala Railway Station Tuesday (5th May, 2026). According to the sources, RPF & GRP, arrested one (1) drug peddlers from Agartala Railway Station and seized total 40 nos ESkuf cough syrup.
According to sources, at about 12 PM Railway Police managed to catch one person namely Srikumar Debbarma (23), S/O- Sri Dasarath Debbarma of Sadhuram Para, Patni, PS- Mandwi, West District, Tripura at Agartala Railway Station in Parking area in between RPF Post Agartala and pay & use toilet along with total 40 no’s bottle of suspected to be contraband narcotic ESkuf cough syrup in his pitthu bag.
Accordingly Railway Police detained him and seized the contraband ESkuf cough syrup. A specific case vide Agartala GRPS case no-2026GRP026, U/S-21(C)/29 of NDPS Act-1985 has registered against him.
Interacted with media Inspector Raju Bhowmik, Officer in Charge Agartala Railway Police Station gave details about this today. OC also stated that such operations against illegal contrabands would continue next day.
