Sepahijala, Tripura, 24th of September, 2026 : A mini food processing facility was established under North-east hilly region plan of Govt. of India by ICAR-Central Institute of Fisheries Technology at KVK, Sepahijala. As a part of that, food processing machineries such as Tray dryer, Refrigerator, Deep freezer, Hot air oven, Bakery machineries, Band sealer, Vacuum packing machine, etc. were installed for encouraging entrepreneurship initiatives and farmer producer organization in the region.
Three days’ workshop was conducted on “Value addition of fish and Agricultural products” jointly with KVK Sepahijala during 21st to 23rd September, 2026.
Practical demonstration on preparation of fish cutlet, fish finger, shrimp pickle, and butterfly shrimp, banana chips, cake were conducted during workshop.
The programme was co-ordinated by Dr. A. Jeyakumari, Senior Scientist, ICAR-CIFT, Kochi, Dr. Binsi, Senior Scientist, ICAR-CIFT, Kochi, Nungleppam Monica, Subject Matter Specialist (Food Processing Engineering) & Dr. Shatabhisa Sarkar, Senior Scientist and Head, Krishi Vigyan Kendra, CAU(I),Sepahijala, Tripura.
The certificates were distributed to the participant at the end of the programme.
