Sonamura, Tripura, 23rd of May 2026 : On the basis of secret information Sonamura police, in joint operations with BSF recovered and seized total 26 kg dry Cannabis (Ganja), at Sonamura under Sepahijala District on Saturday (23rd May, 2026) early morning.
According to sources, Sonamura Police Station in joint operations with BSF recovered and seized total 26 kg dry Cannabis (Ganja), which covered by black colour cellotape, as unclaimed.
After that seized it after observing all legal formalities as unclaimed.
The destination market value of the seized ganja is approximately to be 5.2 Lakh only.
Interacted with media Inspector Tapas Das, Officer in Charge Sonamura Police Station said that Sonamura police has started an investigation as to who could be the owner of these illegal seizes ganja.
OC also stated that such operations against illegal contrabands would continue next day.
