Dharmanagar, Tripura, 27th of May 2026 : The Dharmanagar Municipal Council has finally announced the prize distribution ceremony for the winners of various events held under “Khelo Dharmanagar 2026,” organized in memory of late MLA Bishwabandhu Sen. Detailed information regarding the ceremony was shared during a press conference held on Wednesday, May 27, at the conference hall of the Dharmanagar Municipal Council.Present at the press conference were Chairperson of Dharmanagar Municipal Council Mitali Das Sen, Dharmanagar MLA Jahar Chakraborty, Vice- Chairperson Manju Nath, along with several other dignitaries.
During the conference, the Municipal Council stated that although “Khelo Dharmanagar 2026” was successfully conducted, the prize distribution ceremony could not be organized earlier due to election-related preparations, administrative engagements, and various official responsibilities. As a result, no formal announcement regarding the event had been made until now.However, with the election process and administrative work now completed, the authorities announced that the winners will officially receive their prizes on May 30.
The prize distribution ceremony will be held at Vivekananda Sardha Shatabarshiki Bhavan in Dharmanagar. It is worth mentioning that a total of 43 events were organized under “Khelo Dharmanagar 2026.” Around 4,500 participants from three blocks of Dharmanagar took part in the sports competition. According to the Municipal Council, prize money amounting to ₹5.17 lakh along with other awards will be distributed among the winners across different categories.
The announcement has created renewed enthusiasm among players and participants. Many competitors, who had been waiting for a long time for their awards, are finally set to receive their deserved recognition. Sports enthusiasts in Dharmanagar also expressed hope that this initiative would further encourage the culture of sports and athletic activities in the region.
