Dharmanagar, Tripura, 1st of June, 2026 : In a new initiative to promote theatre practice and creativity in the cultural town of Dharmanagar, Learners Educational Society organized a theatre workshop on Sunday (31st May, 2026) in collaboration with the Cultural Unit of Dharmanagar Government College. The workshop was inaugurated at the college conference hall and witnessed enthusiastic participation from students and theatre enthusiasts.The workshop featured discussions and practical training on acting, body movement, effective voice modulation, stage presentation, teamwork, character development, and the fundamentals of theatre.

Participants also took part in various theatre games, improvisation exercises, and group activities, sharing their experiences and insights throughout the sessions.The inaugural programme was attended by Monideep Das Suman, President of Learners Educational Society; Ratnadeep Chakraborty, Secretary; Executive Member Sanjoy Chand; Dr. Abhijit Sarkar, Principal of Dharmanagar Government College; Dr. Nandita Roy, Associate Professor of Bengali and Convenor of the Cultural Committee; Associate Professors Dr. Manik Bhattacharya, Dipanwita Bhattacharya, Paritosh Nag, and Shantanu Bhattacharya; Ripon Chakma, Joint Director of the District Information and Cultural Affairs Department; Sanjib Kumar Das; and several other distinguished guests.
Representing Learners Educational Society were Gobil Bhattacharya, Monish Ranjan Dutta, Agnish Sutradhar, Rudra Nath, and other members of the organization, who played significant roles in the successful implementation of the workshop.Speakers at the event emphasized that theatre is not merely a form of entertainment in today’s world; it is also an effective medium for personality development, confidence building, communication skill enhancement, and social awareness.
