Sabroom, Tripura, 1st of June, 2026 : As part of efforts to modernize and beautify Sabroom town, a large LED screen was installed at the busy four-way junction near the Sabroom Auto Stand, the heart of the town, at a cost of several lakhs of rupees. The LED screen was set up to showcase the various developmental initiatives of the state government to the public. It was also intended to inform residents about different development projects and public welfare programmes undertaken within the jurisdiction of the Sabroom Nagar Panchayat.

However, it has been observed that the large LED screen became non-functional within less than a month of its installation and has remained out of order for the past 10 to 12 days, with no apparent action from the authorities.

Local traders, speaking on the matter this evening, said that the screen developed faults shortly after being installed and has remained defunct ever since. They also pointed out that more than half of the streetlights installed across different parts of the Sabroom market area are not functioning.
