Dharmanagar, Tripura, 1st of June, 2026 : As in previous years, Sanskriti Balay Dharmanagar Sansad has organized the traditional Baishakhi Festival this year as well. A series of cultural activities has already begun in connection with the festival.As part of the celebrations, a colorful sit-and-draw competition for children and teenagers was held on Sunday at the Vivekananda Sardha Shatabarshiki Bhavan premises in Dharmanagar.
Participants from different age groups enthusiastically took part in the event from the morning hours.Through their paintings, the young artists beautifully portrayed themes such as nature, rural life, the traditions of the Bengali New Year, and various other subjects. A large number of parents were also present at the venue, encouraging the participants. The organizers stated that the competition was arranged to promote creativity and artistic expression among children.
According to Sanskriti Balay Dharmanagar Sansad, the Baishakhi Festival will be officially inaugurated on June 2 and will continue until June 7. During the festival, a variety of cultural competitions and programs—including dance, recitation, music, painting, and other performances—will be organized. Local artists, cultural activists, and students from various educational institutions are expected to participate in these events.The organizers expressed hope that the Baishakhi Festival will not only provide entertainment but also inspire the younger generation to develop a deeper interest in Bengali culture, heritage, and creative pursuits.
