Agartala, Tripura, 2nd of June, 2026 : On specific information of the Government Railway Police (GRP), Railway Protection Force (RPF) secret operation was launched in Agartala Railway Station Wednesday (3rd June, 2026). According to the sources, RPF & GRP, arrested four (4) drug peddlers from Agartala Railway Station and seized total 140 nos ESkuf cough syrup.
According to sources, at about 3 PM Railway Police to catch four persons namely (1) Kameshwar Ray (40), S/O- Sri Ram Pramod Ray of Terahrasia, Ratnakar, PO- Hajipur, PS-Ganga Bridge, Dist.- Vaishali, Bihar (2) Vicky Kumar (20), S/O- Sri Anil Ray of Terahrasia, Ratnakar, PO- Hajipur, PS-Ganga Bridge, Dist.- Vaishali, Bihar. (3) Viswajeet Kumar (20), S/O- Sri Santosh Ray of Terahrasia, Ratnakar, PO- Hajipur, PS-Ganga Bridge, Dist.- Vaishali, Bihar and (4) Sunil Kumar (20), S/O- Sri Pukari Ray of Terahrasia, Ratnakar, PO- Hajipur, ,PS-Ganga Bridge, Dist.- Vaishali, Bihar at Agartala Railway Station on platform no-01in front of Parking area in between RPF Post Agartala and pay & use toilet along with total 140 no’s bottle of suspected to be contraband narcotic ESkuf cough syrup in their bags respectively.
The value of this ESkuf cough syrup is Rs- 2 Lakh approx in black market Accordingly Railway Police arrested them and seized the contraband ESkuf cough syrup. A specific case vide Agartala GRPS case no-2026GRP039, U/S-21(C)/29 of NDPS Act-1985 has registered against them.
Interacted with media Inspector Raju Bhowmik, Officer in Charge Agartala Railway Police Station gave details about this today. OC also stated that such operations against illegal contrabands would continue next day.
