Agartala, Tripura, 5th of June 2026 : On the occasion of World Environment Day 2026, the 13 Tripura Battalion NCC successfully organized an Environment Awareness Rally and Plantation Programme at Umakanta Academy, Agartala. The event witnessed the enthusiastic participation of approximately 644 NCC cadets, including SD, SW, JD, and JW cadets.
The programme aimed to promote environmental awareness and encourage sustainable practices among students and the community. Various activities were conducted to highlight the importance of environmental conservation and cleanliness.
The programme included an Environment Awareness Rally, during which cadets spread messages on environmental protection and sustainable living. A Tree Plantation Drive was also organized, where cadets planted saplings to contribute towards a greener and healthier environment. In addition, activities related to the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan were carried out to encourage cleanliness and responsible waste management.
The event was honored by the presence of distinguished guests, including Col. N. S. Baath, Shri Tilak Chakraborty, Shri Purmendu Kanti Das, and Shri Raju Acharjee. The guests delivered inspiring speeches emphasizing the importance of environmental conservation, pollution control, afforestation, and the collective responsibility of citizens in protecting nature.
The programme concluded with a group interaction session and a photo session, where cadets and guests shared their experiences and expressed their commitment to environmental protection.
The celebration of World Environment Day 2026 was a great success. It created awareness among the cadets and reinforced the importance of preserving nature for future generations. The programme encouraged everyone to adopt eco-friendly practices and work together towards building a cleaner, greener, and healthier world.
