World Environment Day 2026 Observed In Ampi.

Amarpur, Tripura, 5th of June 2026 : Following the theme, “Inspired by nature. For climate. For our future” Ampi Nagar RD block in collaboration with Ampi Panchayat staffs the World Environment Day 2026 observation has been conducted here in Ampinagar panchayat office premises today. On this occasion a large number of local people have gathered here in the programme venue and took active participation in the event.

Addressing the gathering Ampi block BDO Ruatfela Darlong has said, “World Environment Day is observed annually on June 5th in every year with the aim to keep our environment polution free. As it is the United Nations’ principal platform for encouraging global awareness and action to protect our environment. It mobilizes millions of people across more than 150 countries to engage in environmental outreach, conservation efforts, and sustainability initiatives. 

 As we know it had been established by the UN General Assembly in 1972 during the Stockholm Conference on the Human Environment. The first celebration was held in 1973. 

 To shift mindsets, influence policies, and inspire individuals and communities to take responsible action against pressing ecological crises, such as climate change, biodiversity loss, and pollution. Themes and Global Action

Each year, a specific theme and host country are chosen to focus international attention on a pressing environmental challenge. 

This year observation is focusing on urgent climate action and repairing our relationship with the Earth’s changing climate. It gives us message to make our environment clean and green; focused on critical issues like plastic polution, air pollution, land restoration etc. On the other hand, Ampi panchayat secretary Rahul Datta has motivated programme participants to plant trees and take care of them; to generate a healthy environment he advised them to keep their house surrounding neat and clean.

All distinguished programme participants have planted many saplings in different places. Through a cleanliness drive road and market lanes have been cleaned. Amidst the other programme participants there were Subal Das, social activist, Vinkar Chakraborty, social activist, Shipra Shill and many others remained present in the event.
