Agartala, Tripura, 6th of June 2026 : Rotary Club of Agartala has announced two major flagship initiatives aimed at economic empowerment and youth leadership development. The programmes include the Egg Push Cart Employment Generation Programme and the International & District RYLA Meet 2026 “Igniting Minds 3.0”, both scheduled on 6th-7th June 2026.

The Egg Push Cart Employment Generation Programme is being organized in association with Rotary Egg Bank and fully funded by the National Egg Coordination Committee (NECC). The programme will be held on 6th June 2026 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM in front of Guruji Conference Hall, Akhaura Road, Old RMS Chowmuhani, Krishna Nagar. Agartala
The Rotary Egg Bank initiative was launched in Agartala in 2021 by the renowned “Rotary Egg Man”, Rtn Dr. Valmiki Hari Kishan, during the presidency of Rtn. Swapan Bhoumik. Since its inception, the project has been serving vulnerable communities by distributing eggs to improve nutrition and strengthen immunity among underprivileged sections of society.
Recognizing the impact of the initiative, the National Egg Coordination Committee (NECC) partnered with Rotary Egg Bank to launch the Pushcart Project across the North Eastern Region. Under the project, NECC provided full funding of Rs 25,00,000 for fabrication of 50 push carts. During the current phase, ten push carts will be distributed in Agartala to carefully selected beneficiaries.
The beneficiaries will receive push carts along with burners, utensils and other essential equipment required to start and operate small street-based businesses selling egg and chicken recipes, thereby creating sustainable livelihood opportunities and income generation.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Kumar, Chief Operating Officer of NECC, stated that the project aims to create self-employment opportunities while promoting nutritional awareness and egg consumption. Rtn. Dr. Valmiki Hari Kishan expressed satisfaction that the initiative is expanding throughout the North Eastern Region and benefiting deserving families
District Governor RID 3240, Rtm. Dr. K. S. Elangbam, appreciated the efforts of Rotary Egg Bank and thanked NECC for extending support to the North Eastern States through this unique livelihood project. Assistant Governor Rin. Subir Som also commended Rotary Club of Agartala for its continued contribution towards mitrition support and economic empowerment of underprivileged communities.
Immediately following the livelihood initiative, Rotary Club of Agartala, in association with the Rotaract Club of Agartala, will organize the International & District RYLA Meet 2026 “Igniting Minds 3.0” on 6th-7th June 2026 at Uttarayan Ayush Gram, Mohanpur, West Tripura.
The prestigious youth leadership programme is being organized under the banner of District RYLA RID 3240 and is expected to attract participants from Nepal, Odisha, all eight North Eastern States and various parts of West Bengal. The programme aims to develop leadership qualities, communication skills, teamwork, personality development and social responsibility among youth.
The two-day residential programme will feature leadership sessions, interactive workshops, field activities, outdoor adventures, indoor activities, quiz competitions, talent hunt programmes, fun sports and cultural interaction sessions. Eminent speakers from various professional fields will address important contemporary issues including health awareness, sports as a professional career, drug abuse, mental stress, cyber fraud, healthy lifestyle practices, entrepreneurship and livelihood opportunities.
President Rtn. Kisalaya Ghosh stated that both initiatives reflect Rotary’s commitment towards creating sustainable impact through economic empowerment, youth leadership development and community service. He further emphasized that Rotary Club of Agartala remains committed to implementing innovative projects that improve lives and create opportunities for future generations.
Rotary leaders, beneficiaries, youth delegates, Rotarians, Rotaractors, media representatives and distinguished guests are expected to participate in both programmes.
