Dharmanagar, Tripura, 6th of June 2026 : Allegations surrounding Dharmanagar District Hospital in North Tripura have sparked widespread discussion among healthcare professionals and the general public. This time, questions have been raised regarding the legitimacy of the post of Deputy Medical Superintendent at the hospital.

According to local sources, Dr. Sandipak Roy is currently serving as the Deputy Medical Superintendent of Dharmanagar District Hospital. Allegations suggest that, apart from AGMC (Agartala Government Medical College), no other district hospital in Tripura presently has such a position in operation. This has led to growing questions about how the post continues to exist at Dharmanagar District Hospital. It is learned that the position was originally created with approval from the Health Department. However, fresh controversy has emerged regarding the process through which the post was established and its current legal validity. The statement of the present Medical Superintendent of Dharmanagar District Hospital has further fueled the debate.

The Medical Superintendent reportedly stated that, to his knowledge, such a post does not exist anywhere in Tripura outside Agartala Government Medical College, with Dharmanagar District Hospital being the only exception. This has led many to question whether there is a deeper mystery behind the creation and continuation of the position. In addition, allegations have surfaced concerning financial irregularities involving funds managed by the District Blindness Control Society and the District Association for the Blind and Disabled. Concerned citizens have demanded a comprehensive audit of the income and expenditure of these funds, along with a transparent investigation into the matter.

Further allegations claim that several development projects within the hospital remain incomplete despite being awarded through various tenders. Questions are being raised as to why the work has not been completed even after a long period, considering the importance of a district hospital. It has also been alleged that in some cases, bills were approved despite the work remaining unfinished.Following the emergence of these allegations, numerous questions have arisen within the hospital community and among the public. There is growing demand for a thorough verification of the claims, appropriate action based on the findings, and intervention by the relevant authorities to ensure transparency and accountability.
