Agartala, Tripura, 29th of June 2026 : With the initiative of State Co-operative Bank Ltd. Organized 43rd Annual General Meeting of Tripura at Nazrul Kalashetra, Agartala, Tripura on Saturday (27th June, 2026).
Addressing at the event Hon’ble Finance Minister Pranajit Singha Roy today said that cooperatives play a crucial role im stengthening the rural econonry and that the Tripura State Cooperative Bank has been contributing significantly towards the socio-economic development of people in rural areas across the state. The Finance Minister was speaking while inaugurating the 43rd Annual General Meeting of Tripura State Cooperative Bank at Nazrul Kalakshetra in Agartala today. Cooperative Minister Shuklacharan Noatia, along with other dignitaries, was present at the event and also addressed the gathering.

Addressing the annual general meeting, Pranajit Singha Roy said that the bank has been working to make small and marginal farmers as well as unemployed youth self-reliant through participation in various schemes of the central and state governments. He said the bank has been playing an important role in enriching the rural economy of Tripura.

Highlighting the bank’s performance, he stated that the credit-deposit (CD) ratio of the bank stands at 66 percent, which is higher than the state’s average CD ratio. He stressed the need to improve customer service quality and simplify lending procedures to benefit small traders and the common people.
Speaking on the occasion, Cooperative Minister Shuklacharan Noatia said the primary objective of cooperatives is to strengthen the rural economy and ensure financial development of the state. He noted that cooperatives have an important role in achieving the vision of a developed India. He also stated that various self-help groups in the state are becoming self-reliant by availing loans from cooperative banks and undertaking business activities.

During the programme, the dignitaries unveiled the annual report of Tripura State Cooperative Bank. Finance Minister Pranajit Singha Roy inaugurated the new ATM counter of the bank’s Vikramnagar branch, while Cooperative Minister Shuklacharan Noatia launched the bank’s mobile banking service at the Apple Store.
On behalf of Tripura State Cooperative Bank, a dividend amounting to Rs. 16 Lakh 83 thousand and 60 was handed over to the state government Tapas Roy, Secretary of the Cooperative Department, and Tanushree Bhattacharya, General Manager of NABARD, also spoke at the event. Chairman Nagadhiraj Dutta presented the report for the financial year 2025-26, while Managing Director Bhajan Chandra Roy delivered the welcome address.

Following the inaugural programme, Chairman Nagadhiraj Dutta and Managing Director Bhajan Chandra Roy addressed a press conference at the bank’s head office at Post Office Chowmuhani in Agartala. During the press conference, they informed that the bank registered a profit of Rs. 166.08 crore during the financial year 2025-26, representing an increase of 40 percent compared to the previous fiscal year. The bank’s net profit stood at Rs. 78.08 crore, recording a growth of 103 percent over the previous year. They further stated that the bank’s total business volume reached Rs. 6,950.92 crore, an increase of approximately Rs. 289.11 crore over the last fiscal year. At present, the bank operates through 67 branches and provides services through 12 ATM facilities across the state.
