Three-Day Rabindra Sangeet Workshop Organised By Sangitiki Music College.

Dharmanagar, Tripura, 14th of July 2026 : With the objective of promoting the authentic practice of Rabindra Sangeet and inspiring greater appreciation for Tagore’s music among the younger generation, Sangitiki Music College is set to organise a three-day Rabindra Sangeet Workshop from 16 to 18 July 2026. The initiative has already generated considerable enthusiasm among music and culture enthusiasts.

The workshop will be conducted by Pralipta Ghosh, a distinguished Rabindra Sangeet exponent from Santiniketan, a CCRT Scholarship recipient, and a Ph.D. researcher in the Department of Rabindra Sangeet at Visva-Bharati University. Under his direct guidance, participants will receive hands-on training in the authentic style of Rabindra Sangeet, including voice culture, expression, pronunciation, melody, and rhythm.

According to the organisers, the workshop is expected to become a significant initiative in the field of Rabindra Sangeet education and will help preserve and promote the purity of Tagore’s musical tradition.To mark the conclusion of the workshop, a special cultural programme titled “Tomar Surer Dhara” will be held on 19 July 2026 at 5:00 PM at Vivekananda Sardha Shatabarshiki Bhavan.

The event will feature performances by workshop participants as well as students and artistes of Sangitiki Music College.The organisers stated that the primary objective of the initiative is to pass on the music, philosophy, and rich cultural heritage of Rabindranath Tagore to future generations in a structured and meaningful manner. They also expressed confidence that the workshop will play an important role in enhancing the quality and authenticity of Rabindra Sangeet practice and performance.

On behalf of Sangitiki Music College, the organisers extended their heartfelt gratitude to members of the media for their cooperation and support in publicising the event. They also warmly invited all lovers of music and culture across the district to attend the concluding programme, “Tomar Surer Dhara,” on 19 July at 5:00 PM at Vivekananda Sardha Shatabarshiki Bhavan.The organisers believe that with the enthusiastic participation of music lovers, both the workshop and its concluding cultural programme will become a memorable milestone in the promotion and preservation of Rabindra Sangeet.
