Sabroom, Tripura, 19th of October, 2026 : The Sabroom Police Station has adopted a strict stance against the illegal drug and liquor trade to maintain peace and law and order in the area on Sunday (18th October, 2026). In view of Durga Puja and the festive season, the police have been conducting continuous operations to prevent untoward incidents and curb criminal activities.
According to the Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Sabroom Police Station, acting on a tip-off, police conducted raids at four houses in the Amtali and Dolbari areas. During the operation, approximately 30 litres of country liquor and 235 bottles of foreign liquor were seized from the houses.
The police have initiated the process of identifying those involved in the illegal sale of liquor and taking appropriate legal action against them under the relevant provisions of the law. The process of filing prosecution cases has also been initiated.
The OC further stated that such anti-drug and anti-illegal liquor operations would continue in the coming days to ensure that the festive season passes peacefully.
