CPI(M) Submits Memorandum To District Magistrate Over Public Issues In North Tripura.

Dharmanagar, Tripura, 15th of July 2026 : The North Tripura District Committee of the CPI(M) on Tuesday (14th July, 2026) submitted a memorandum to the District Magistrate and Collector, raising several public-interest issues and demanding immediate administrative intervention.The memorandum highlighted alleged irregularities in the beneficiary list of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Gramin), the poor condition of several key roads across the district, and multiple shortcomings at the North Tripura District Hospital.

According to the CPI(M), the beneficiary list under PMAY-G has been prepared with serious irregularities. The party alleged that many genuinely homeless and eligible families have been deprived of housing benefits, while the names of several ineligible persons have reportedly been included in the list. It demanded a fresh verification of the existing beneficiary list, inclusion of all deserving families, and an impartial inquiry into the alleged irregularities.

The memorandum also drew attention to the deteriorating condition of several important roads, including the Dharmanagar –Kadamtala, Juri Culvert –Lalchhara, Dharmanagar –Haflong, and Kadamtala –Ranibari roads. The party stated that commuters have been facing severe hardships for a long time due to the poor road conditions, which have also increased the risk of accidents. It urged the administration to undertake immediate repair work, ensure quality in road construction, and strengthen regular monitoring.The CPI(M) further highlighted several issues at the North Tripura District Hospital, including the shortage of specialist doctors, the non-functional Intensive Care Unit (ICU), inconvenience caused by the dialysis unit being located on the first floor, an inoperative generator, and an inadequate blood supply in the blood bank.

The party called for urgent measures to address these problems.Speaking on the occasion, CPI(M) North Tripura District Secretary Abhijit De said, “We want the administration to take effective steps to resolve these issues without delay. These demands have been raised in the interest of the common people.”Attention now turns to the district administration to see what action it takes in response to the public-interest demands outlined in the memorandum.The delegation included CPI(M) North Tripura District Secretary Abhijit De, Dharmanagar Sub-Divisional Secretary Ratan Roy, former Minister Bijita Nath, MLA Shailendra Chandra Nath, and CPI(M) Dharmanagar Sub-Divisional Committee member Jaharul Haque.
