Agartala, Tripura, 18th July, 2026 : On specific information of the Government Railway Police (GRP), Railway Protection Force (RPF) secret operation was launched in Agartala Railway Station Friday (17th July, 2026). According to the sources, RPF & GRP, arrested one (1) drug peddlers from Agartala Railway Station and seized total 119 nos. ESkuf cough syrup.
According to sources, on Friday at about 4 PM Agartala GRPS staff along with special branch team (Tripura Police) managed to catch one person namely Sahin Alam (20) @ ShakilS/O- Mostafa Miah Of Urmai, Ward no-05, PS- Sonamura, Sepahijala District, Tripura at Agartala Railway Station on platform no-01in front of Parking area in between RPF Post Agartala and pay & use toilet along with total 119 nos bottles of suspected to be contraband narcotic Cough Syrup in his trolley bag.
The value of this ESkuf cough syrup is Rs- 2 Lakh approximately in black market. Accordingly Railway Police arrested them and seized the contraband ESkuf cough syrup.
According to Railway Police a specific case vide Agartala GRPS case no-2026GRP047, U/S-21(C)/29 of NDPS Act-1985 has registered against him.
Interacted with media Inspector Raju Bhowmik, Officer in Charge Agartala Railway Police Station gave details about this today. OC also stated that such operations against illegal contrabands would continue next day.
