More than 100 artisans, nominated by various agencies, along with investors, buyers and representatives from leading stakeholder institutions, are expected to participate in the event. Northeast India is known for its vibrant cultural heritage and a diverse range of indigenous products, including heritage handloom textiles, handicrafts, bamboo and cane products, natural fibre products, herbal and wellness items, eco-friendly innovations and traditional food products. While these products represent generations of traditional knowledge and craftsmanship, many women-led enterprises continue to face challenges in branding, packaging, technology adoption and market access. The Buyer–Seller Meet has been conceived to address these challenges by facilitating direct interaction between producers and buyers, investors and institutional stakeholders.

One of the major attractions of the programme will be the exhibition showcasing a wide range of indigenous and Geographical Indication (GI) products from across the eight North Eastern states. Live craft demonstrations and heritage product showcases will further highlight the region’s rich artistic traditions and cultural diversity.

The programme will also feature a dedicated Buyer–Seller Marketplace, offering Business-to-Business (B2B) and Business-to-Consumer (B2C) interactions, networking sessions with national buyers and exporters, participation by retail chains and e-commerce platforms, institutional procurement opportunities, and investor–entrepreneur interactions aimed at expanding market access for participating enterprises.

Sessions on branding and packaging strategies, digital marketing, e-commerce opportunities, financial assistance, government schemes and sustainable production systems will provide practical guidance to entrepreneurs seeking to improve product quality and strengthen market.

By bringing together artisans, entrepreneurs, buyers, investors, government agencies and industry stakeholders on a common platform, the National Buyer–Seller Meet is expected to foster meaningful collaborations and empower women-led enterprises and promote sustainable economic development across the region.
