Dharmanagar, Tripura, 26th of July 2026 : Acting on the directive of the Tripura Pradesh Congress Committee, the North District Congress organized a victory rally in Dharmanagar on Saturday (25th July, 2026).
According to District Congress President Nirupam De, the rally was held following the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan in the wake of the NEET question paper leak controversy and the subsequent student protests in New Delhi.

The rally commenced from the District Congress office, passed through several important roads of the town, and concluded at the base of the Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose statue in front of the District Congress office.Congress workers and supporters raised slogans during the procession, demanding transparency and accountability in the education system.
Among those present were North District Congress President Nirupam De, former District Congress President Digbijay Chakraborty, Pradesh Congress Committee member Chayan Bhattacharya, along with several other party leaders and workers.Congress leaders claimed that the Union Education Minister’s resignation was the result of sustained student protests and described it as a significant victory for democratic movements. They also stated that their campaign against corruption and irregularities in the education system would continue in the future.
