Dharmanagar, Tripura, 26th of July 2026 : In the wake of nationwide outrage and protests over the recent NEET question paper leak, the Dharmanagar District Mahila Congress on Saturday (25th July, 2026) organized a candlelight tribute to commemorate the students who reportedly lost their lives in connection with the incident.

The programme was held at the base of the Netaji statue in Dharmanagar town, where leaders and members of the District Mahila Congress paid silent homage by lighting candles before portraits of the students.Among those present were State Mahila Congress Committee member Shelly Sinha, along with Sangita Das, Ganga Nath, and several other women leaders and party workers.
Addressing the gathering, the speakers alleged that corruption and irregularities such as question paper leaks have pushed the future of meritorious students into uncertainty. They demanded a comprehensive investigation into the incident and strict legal action against those responsible, so that no candidate has to face such a situation in the future.During the tribute programme, participants prayed for the peace of the departed students’ souls and also called for greater transparency, accountability, and stronger security measures in the country’s examination system.
