Guwahati, Assam, 8th of August, 2026 : The College of Nursing, AIIMS Guwahati celebrated its 3rd Foundation Day on 5 August 2026 marking another milestone in its journey of excellence in nursing education, research, and service.
The celebration began with the release of the College Wall Magazine, followed by the formal Foundation Day programme. Prof. (Dr.) Unmona Borgohain Saikia, Principal-cum-Chief Nursing Officer, AIIMS Guwahati, presented the Annual Report, highlighting the College’s achievements in academics, research, student development, skill-based training, community outreach, and institutional collaborations.
The programme was graced by Prof. Nochovono Tase, Professor-cum-Principal, College of Nursing, NEIGRIHMS, Shillong, and Dr. Raj Prabha Moktan, Director, Regional Resource Centre for North-Eastern States (RRC-NE), Branch of NHSRC, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India, as Guests of Honour. They appreciated the College’s progress and encouraged faculty and students to continue striving for excellence in nursing education, research, leadership, and compassionate healthcare.
The programme was held under the patronage of Prof. (Dr.) Ashok Puranik, Executive Director, AIIMS Guwahati, who congratulated the College on its achievements and appreciated the dedication of the faculty, students, and staff in strengthening nursing education and quality patient care.
Faculty members were felicitated for their academic achievements, while meritorious students received awards for outstanding academic performance. Cultural performances by students added colour to the celebration. The event was attended by Deans, faculty members, nursing officers, students, and other dignitaries.
