Garia Academy Observed 80th Independence Day 2026.                      

Amarpur, Tripura, 15th of August 2026 : With the initiative of Garia Academy (Model) school a motivational independence day celebration programme has been conducted here in Garia Academy premises in Sarbong VC, Kaphru in Amarpur Gomati Tripura on Saturday (15th August, 2026).

On this occasion a large number of dignitaries, students, parents, teachers and local villagers have assembled here in the programme venue and took active participation in the celebration. Aiming the theme, ‘United In Diversity, Strong In Nation’ the programme has focussed over the 150th years of Vande Mataram, A patriotic song that awaken the nation. Under the able guidance and supervision of school principal the event was constituted with different kinds of programme segments. Through singing the National Anthem and hoisting the National flag by TRPC chairman P.K Jamatia the event has been initiated.

On this auspicious occasion the chairperson Patal Kanya Jamatia has addressed specially the student participants to provide them the basic knowledge over the day and said, “Independence Day, celebrated annually on August 15 in India, marks the historic end of British colonial rule in 1947 and the birth of a free, sovereign nation. It is a vital national occasion that honors the sacrifices of freedom fighters, unites diverse communities, and renew the collective commitment to democratic values and civic duty. It commemorates freedom from nearly 200 years of British control. We recollect and honor those brave leaders and fighters who gave their lives for liberty. This national festival brings people together; unites citizens across different states, languages, and cultures under one flag. It fosters a deep sense of patriotism and shared identity. It encourages the younger generation to learn history and value democracy. This great day teaches us that rights and responsibilities go hand in hand; focuses on nation-building, growth, and protecting hard-won freedom.”

On this auspicious occasion the school authority has organized different kinds of competative events amidst students. On the other hand, a plantation drive programme was also conducted where the chief guest P.K Jamatia has planted saplings alongwith other programme participants. The patriotic cultural programme presented by the school students has made the event more fascinating. Amidst the other distinguished dignitaries there were B.P Meena, SMC members and many others remained present in the programme.
