Khowai, Tripura, 20th of August 2026 : With the initiative of Information & Cultural Affairs Department, Khowai organized 118th birth anniversary of Maharaja Bir Bikram Kishore Manikya Bahadur was celebrated with due respect and dignity in Town Hall, Khowai, Tripura on Wednesday (19th August, 2026).
At the beginning of the programme, MLA Pinaki Das Chowdhury, along with other dignitaries, paid floral tributes to the portrait of Maharaja Bir Bikram Kishore Manikya Bahadur.
At the event, MLA Pinaki Das Chowdhury addressed in detail about Maharaja Bir Bikram Kishore Manikya Bahadur, who is regarded as the architect of modern Tripura. The programme also featured musical and dance performances by various artists from Khowai.
Amidst the other distinguished dignitaries there were Zilla Parishad Sabhadhipati Aparna Singh Roy, eminent social activist Samir Kumar Das, Additional District Magistrate Abedananda Baidya, Khowai Municipal Council Chairperson Debashish Nath Sharma, Anukul Chandra Das and many other distinguished dignitaries were present at the event.
