Sabroom PS, BSF Jointly Seize 52 KG Of Dry Cannabis.

Sabroom, Tripura, 30th of August, 2026 : In South Tripura district, under Belonia Hrishyamukh Block, a joint operation by the BSF and police was conducted at Nalua Abhayanagar Das Para on Sunday (30th August, 2026) at around 10 AM. The team chased and intercepted a private car bearing registration number TR01AAR0608, from which 52 kg of Dry Cannabis (Ganja) was recovered. The driver reportedly abandoned the vehicle and fled the scene.

The Sabroom Sub-Divisional Police Officer and a forensic team soon arrived at the spot. The incident created tension in the area, with local residents raising serious questions. Their main concern is how illegal drugs continue to enter the border areas despite naka checking being conducted by the police and customs at various locations across Tripura.
