Dharmanagar, Tripura, 3rd of September, 2026 : Amid claims of development and repeated assertions of administrative activity, another innocent life has been tragically lost on the roads of Dharmanagar. A four-year-old girl died a heartbreaking death after a tuk-tuk overturned while she was returning home from school. The tragic incident has cast a pall of grief over Dharmanagar, while also raising serious questions about passenger safety and the administration’s role in preventing road accidents.

According to local sources, four-year- old Riddhi Pal, daughter of Dharmanagar resident Rupam Pal, was travelling home from school in a Tom-tom when the accident occurred. The vehicle suddenly lost control and overturned near Tribeni School, close to Baruakandi No. 1 Bridge. The child sustained critical injuries in the accident. Eyewitnesses said that the child began bleeding from her nose and mouth following the crash.Personnel from the Dharmanagar Fire Service quickly reached the spot after receiving the information. The critically injured child was rescued and rushed to Dharmanagar District Hospital.

However, all efforts proved futile. After examination, the attending doctors declared the four-year-old girl dead.The tragic death of such a young child has naturally plunged the family and local residents into deep grief and anger.
