Agartala, Tripura, 7th of September, 2026 : With the initiative of Higher Education Department Government of Tripura ‘Shikshak Pranam 2026′ on the occasion of celebration of the 65th Teachers’ Day programme organized at Rabindra Satabarshiki Bhawan, Agartala, Tripura on Sunday (6th September, 2026).
In the presence of many distinguished dignitaries Hon’ble Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha was inaugurated the event by lighting the ceremonial Lamp.
Addressing at the Celebration of the 65th Teachers’ Day event Hon’ble Chief Minister Prof. Dr. Manik Saha today said that it is possible to build a Viksit Bharat in the future only through the knowledge and guidance of teachers.

“The importance and contribution of teachers in building society is paramount. The profession of teaching is a great and proud thing. The late President of the country, Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, always felt proud to identify himself as a teacher. The main foundation of his multifaceted career was the great ideals of teaching and education,” said the Chief Minister.
Chief Minister Prof. (Dr.) Manik Saha said this in his speech as the chief guest while inaugurating the Celebration of the 65th Teachers’ Day programme at Rabindra Satabarshiki Bhawan. The programme was organized by the Higher Education Department.
Inaugurating the programme, the Chief Minister said that Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan’s philosophy of life is a bright guide for the future, and his educational philosophy opened a new horizon for social change.

“The current teachers should also educate the students of the present and future generations in real education by teaching through the perfection of knowledge. At one time, India was one of the best in the world in various fields, including knowledge, science and culture. We need to restore that pride. Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s goal is to build a knowledge-based India by following the mantra ‘Virasat Bhi, Vikas Bhi, Pradhansat O, Unnayan O’,” he said.
He said that the peak of excellence is open to those who are rich in knowledge and education.
Dr. Saha said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi introduced the National Education Policy to guide the country’s education system in the right direction. Along with this, he has also linked technology with education.
He said that the real purpose of education is to move people forward on the path of possibilities by overcoming limitations.

The Chief Minister said that education is not just for making a career. The main purpose of education is to build character.
He said that in the spread of education, skills should be developed to achieve perfection of knowledge. Students should be educated in real education to lead the development and change of the country.
“Real and quality education is the path to prosperity. Quality education should be strengthened at all levels,” said Dr. Saha.
Dr. Saha called for strengthening human resources by educating students through quality education.

Amidst the distinguished dignitaries there were Hon’ble Higher Education Minister Kishor Barman, Secretary of the Education Department Dr. Milind Ramtek, Vice Chancellor of Tripura National Law University Yogesh Pratap Singh, Vice Chancellor of Maharaja Bir Bikram University Dr. Bibhas Deb, and Director of the Indian Institute of Information Technology (Agartala) Abhay Kumar and many other distinguished dignitaries were present in the event.
