NCC Group Commander Brigadier Anand Raj Singh Visits BBM College, Agartala.

Agartala, Tripura, 7th of September, 2026 : Group Commander of NCC Group Headquarters, Silchar, Brigadier Anand Raj Singh, visited Bir Bikram Memorial (BBM) College, Agartala, today. On his arrival at the college premises, he was accorded a ceremonial Guard of Honour by the cadets of the BBM College NCC Sub-Unit.

The visit was attended by Principal Dr. Mihir Pal, Col. N.S. Baath, Commanding Officer of 13 Tripura Battalion NCC, Training JCOs and Permanent Instructional (PI) Staff. Dr. Rupak Das, Secretary, Teachers’ Council, BBM College, Associate NCC Officers Capt. (Dr.) Samir Kumar Dasbagh and Lt. Tapanjyoti Malakar, NCC alumni, and more than 80 active cadets of the NCC Sub-Unit were also present.

The formal reception began with a welcome song by the cadets. Captain Dr Samir Kumar Diabagh delivered the welcome address along with various achievements of the BBMC NCC Sub-Unit like best college award in 2025, best ANO & best cadet awards in 2022 by DG NCC, New Delhi, RDC participants in 2025, 2026 and various Social Service & Community Development activities like blood donation program, vibrant village programme, Nasha Mukta Bharat Abhiyan, Tree Plantation work, Puneet Sagar Abhiyan, etc.

 A vibrant cultural presentation by the cadets featuring the traditional Mog dance, Sangrain, showcasing the rich cultural heritage of the region.

As part of the felicitation ceremony, Principal Dr. Mihir Pal presented flower bouquet, risha & a commemorative Neermahal memento to Brigadier Anand Raj Singh. In return, the Group Commander presented a memento to the Principal in recognition of the college’s continued support and encouragement towards NCC activities at state level. The visiting military officials and faculty dignitaries were also felicitated on the occasion.

The highlight of the visit was an interactive session between the Group Commander and the cadets. Addressing the young NCC cadets, Brigadier Anand Raj Singh emphasised the importance of discipline, leadership, commitment, character building and dedicated service to the nation. He encouraged the cadets to make the best use of their NCC training and develop themselves into responsible and confident citizens.

The visit concluded with a group photograph involving the Group Commander, college authorities, NCC officials, faculty members, alumni and cadets.

The visit was an inspiring and memorable occasion for the BBM College NCC Sub-Unit and provided the cadets with an opportunity to interact with senior NCC leadership and draw inspiration from his guidance and experience.
