Sonamura, Tripura, 9th of September, 2026 : Sonamura Police on Wednesday (9th September, 2026) arrested the main accused in connection with an alleged sexual assault incident reported on September 5. The accused has been alleged to have taken advantage of the woman’s vulnerable situation and engaged in physical relations with her against her will while she was asleep. He has also been accused of issuing threats and being involved in a conspiracy.
Based on the complaint, a case was registered at Sonamura Police Station under various sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). Following the investigation, the prime accused in the case was arrested. He will be produced before the Court in accordance with all legal procedures.
