Six-Hour Sit-In In Dharmanagar: Congress Demands Mandatory PRTC For Recruitment.

Dharmanagar, Tripura, 11th of September, 2026 : The Tripura Pradesh Congress organised a six-hour sit-in protest demanding that the Permanent Resident of Tripura Certificate (PRTC) be made mandatory for recruitment in the state, that candidates who have cleared TET-1 and TET-2 be appointed immediately, and that misuse of the state’s recruitment policy be stopped.The protest was organised by the Tripura Pradesh Congress on Thursday (10th September, 2026) at the premises of the Dharmanagar Congress Bhavan.

The programme, which began in the morning, was attended by Pradesh Youth Congress president Nilkamal Saha along with leaders and workers of the Dharmanagar Youth Congress.Congress leaders alleged that the interests of local youths are not being adequately protected in the state’s recruitment process. They particularly pointed out that many candidates who have cleared the TET-1 and TET-2 examinations have been waiting for appointments for a long time. The party demanded that necessary steps be taken to recruit them without further delay.At the same time, the Congress strongly reiterated its demand that PRTC be made mandatory for recruitment to government jobs in the state.

According to the party, appropriate safeguards must be incorporated into the recruitment policy to ensure employment opportunities for local candidates.The protesters also demanded an immediate end to the alleged misuse of the state’s recruitment policy. Speakers at the programme said that qualified candidates must be provided job opportunities at the earliest through a transparent and fair recruitment process.During the six-hour programme, Congress leaders and workers addressed the gathering in support of their various demands and urged the government to resolve the employment and recruitment-related problems faced by the state’s youth at the earliest.
