Amarpur, Tripura, 11th of September, 2026 : With the initiative of Inspectorate of School, Ampi Nagar Gomati Tripura Literacy Fortnight 2026 under ULLAS- Nav Bharat Shaksarata Karyakram event 2026 has been organized here Ampi Nagar block in Gomati Tripura today. On this motivational occasion of awareness programme of literacy a large number of school students and teachers and BRP staffs have participated the rally conducted on Teliamura-Amarpur road including market lanes at Ampi Nagar.
As per the report, Literacy Fortnight under ULLAS – Nav Bharat Saaksharta Karyakram is a nationwide awareness and community-participation campaign to promote adult literacy and lifelong learning, particularly among people aged 15 years and above who did not receive adequate formal schooling. ULLAS is being implemented during 2022-23 to 2026-27. ULLAS means “Understanding of Lifelong Learning for All in Society”, with the slogan “Jan Jan Saakshar”. Every Person Literate. The programme focuses on five major topics as Foundational Literacy and Numeracy, Critical Life Skills, Basic education, Vocational Skills, Continuing Education.

Sources said, during the Literacy Fortnight schools, teachers, students, volunteers, panchayats and community organizations can participate through activities such as Literacy Awareness rallies and prabhat pheries, meeting at Gram Panchayat/community level, Awareness Program for non-literates, Reading and Writing activities, Cultural Programmes, Quizzes and Competition, Mobilization & registration of adult learners, Encouraging volunteers to teach non-literate adults, Activities promoting digital, financial and life skills.
