Khowai, Tripura, 13th of September, 2026 : As in previous years, the East Ramchandraghat area is once again being decked up in a festive atmosphere ahead of the Sharadiya festival.
The Netaji Play Centre of East Ramchandraghat is organising its annual Sharadiya Durga Puja this year as well. For nearly 20 years, the club has been celebrating the puja with tradition and dedication. Apart from organising the annual Durga Puja, the club remains actively involved in various social and cultural programmes throughout the year.
This year, the puja budget has been set at around Rs 5 lakh. A special decoration along with various attractions has been planned to draw visitors. The pandal will also feature a unique and creative design, which the organisers hope will capture the attention of visitors.
On Sunday, members of Netaji Play Centre formally inaugurated the preparations for this year’s Sharadiya festival with the traditional Khuti Puja. The Khuti Puja was marked by an atmosphere of enthusiasm and joy among the organisers and local residents.
According to the organisers, the love and support of the local people have been their greatest strength throughout the two-decade journey. They said that they will continue their social and cultural activities while making efforts to organise the traditional puja in an even more attractive and grand manner in the coming years.
Preparations for the Sharadiya festival have already begun in East Ramchandraghat with the festive season approaching. This year’s celebrations at Netaji Play Centre are being organised under the leadership of President Mohan Deb, Secretary Kanan Sarkar, Treasurer Krishna Das, and other members of the club.
