Mumbai, Maharashtra, 24th of September, 2026 : Canara Bank received two renowned awards from the Department of Official Language, Government of India, on the occasion of Hindi Diwas and the 6th All India Official Language Conference held in Navi Mumbai on September 14 and 15, 2026. The Bank’s quarterly in-house magazine, ‘Canara Jyothi’, was honored with the ‘Rajbhasha Kirti Puraskar’ (Second Prize) in the ‘C’ region. Along with this, the Town Official Language Implementation Committee (Banks & Insurance), Bengaluru—Convened by the Bank—was conferred the ‘Sarvashreshta Puraskar’ under the ‘NARAKAS Protsahan Samman’ for the promotion and effective implementation of the Official Language, Hindi. At the event held on September 14, 2026, Shri Praveen Kumar Singh, General Manager, HR Wing and Smt. Sreekala Sreekumar, HR Wing received the ‘Kirti Puraskar’ on behalf of the Bank from the Hon’ble Union Minister of State for Home Affairs, Shri Bandi Sanjay Kumar. The Hon’ble Union Minister of State for Home Affairs, Shri Nityanand Rai, also graced the occasion with his presence. During the event, the 48th issue of the Canara Jyothi magazine was also released by the dignitaries on the dais.
Meanwhile, the ‘NARAKAS Protsahan Puraskar’ was presented on September 15, 2026, by Smt. Anshuli Arya, Secretary, Department of Official Language. This award was received on behalf of TOLIC (Bank and Insurance) by Shri Praveen Kumar Singh, GM, Canara Bank, HR Wing, Head Office and TOLIC Member Secretary Smt. Sreekala Sreekumar, AGM, Canara Bank.
