New Delhi, Delhi, 24th of September, 2026 : WanderOn, India’s community-led, experiential travel brand catering to Gen Z and millennial travellers, announced a sharp rise in festive season travel demand over the past three years, with their total bookings climbing 75% since 2023. The data showcases a broader shift in how Indians are choosing to travel during the festive months, favouring international getaways, a growing interest in personalised itineraries, and premium experiences in greater numbers each year.
WanderOn witnessed the festive season booking grow by 25% year on year between 2022 to 2024, and accelerated to a 40% jump in 2025. The number of travellers followed a similar pattern, growing by 67% from 2023 to 2025. The average ticket size per traveller has also grown steadily by 60% from 2023 to 2025, pointing to rising spending and a preference for richer, more elevated travel experiences.
One of the most visible shifts has been the move toward international travel. In 2023, domestic trips accounted for 80% of festive season bookings, with international travel making up just 20%. By 2025, that balance had shifted dramatically, with international travel doubling its share to 40%, a 2X growth in over two years.

Commenting on the company’s performance, Govind Gaur, Founder and CEO, WanderOn, said, “Indian travel is entering a new phase. Travellers are no longer viewing festive holidays as occasional breaks; they are prioritising meaningful experiences and are willing to invest in festive journeys that offer greater flexibility, discovery, and personalisation. The 27–35 age group accounts for the largest share of WanderOn’s bookings. As younger Indians place greater value on experiences, exploration, and connection, we believe this trend will continue to shape the future of travel.”
Customisation has emerged as another defining trend. BYOG (Bring Your Own Group) and customised trips accounted for 30% of festive-season bookings in 2023, rising to 40% in 2024 and 54% in 2025. The trend points to a growing demand for flexibility and curated experiences, while WanderOn’s group tours remain an important part of its festive travel mix.
Among Indian trips, Meghalaya, Spiti, Andaman, Rajasthan, and Himachal Pradesh remain the most sought-after choices for WanderOn’s travellers during the festive season. On the international front, Thailand, Vietnam, Bhutan, and Europe are the top preferences among travellers. Regionally, North India led the way in bookings at 35%, followed by South India at 25%, West India at 20%, Central India at 15%, and Northeast India at 5%.
Beyond destination-led travel, the growing interest in festival- and event-based experiences, along with New Year travel demand, has also contributed to the rise in festive-season bookings. The data suggests that the travellers are increasingly planning holidays around celebrations, cultural and live events, while year-end breaks encourage them to combine New Year celebrations with experiential getaways.
As festive travel continues to gain momentum year after year, WanderOn will remain focused on expanding its portfolio of curated and experiential travel to meet the evolving preferences of Indian travellers. Looking ahead to the 2026 festive season, WanderOn expects demand for group and community-led travel to remain strong, alongside growing interest in personalised holidays. This points to an evolving preference among travellers to combine the social experience of exploring with friends and fellow travellers with greater flexibility in how they plan their trips.
