Governor Of Tripura Indrasena Reddy Nallu Inaugurates Blind Cricket Tournament.

Agartala, Tripura, 2nd of October, 2026 : Hon’ble Governor of Tripura Indrasena Reddy Nallu inaugurated the Saradiya East Zone Blind Cricket Tournament 2026 at the Jamjuri Higher Secondary School cricket ground in Udaipur on Thursday (1st October, 2026) The tournament has been organized by the Cricket Association for the Blind in Tripura, in collaboration with the Cricket Association for the Blind in India. Teams from Tripura, Assam, West Bengal, Bihar, Jharkhand and Odisha are participating in the championship, which will continue from October 1 to October 5, 2026.

Addressing the inaugural gathering, Governor Indra Sena Reddy Nallu said the tournament was much more than the beginning of a cricket championship and described it as a celebration of the indomitable human spirit. He said that talent, determination and passion are not limited by physical limitations and noted that such qualities are often strengthened by the challenges individuals overcome. He said the tournament offers an opportunity to witness courage, perseverance and determination taking centre stage. He described every participating player as an inspiration through their skill, discipline, confidence and commitment. Wishing all the participating teams and players success, the Governor expressed hope that the championship would be marked by memorable performances, healthy competition, friendship and the true spirit of sportsmanship.

The Governor said that the state of Tripura is incredibly proud to host this prestigious event. The government and the people of Tripura stand firmly with them and believe in creating an environment where every individual, regardless of their abilities, has the opportunity to shine, pursue their dreams and bring glory to themselves and their state. The Governor congratulated the Cricket Association for the Blind in Tripura for organizing the event and appreciated its efforts to provide visually impaired athletes with a platform to showcase their abilities.

A.K. Patnayyak, Match Observer also delivered speech and discussed about the Blind Cricket Association. The welcome address was delivered by Advocate Apurba Chakraborty Vice President of Cricket Association for the Blind in Tripura, Hiralal Saha, President of the Cricket Association for the Blind in Tripura was present in the event. The five-day tournament brings together blind cricket teams from six eastern Indian states.
