Dharmanagar, Tripura, 10th of October, 2026 : With the aim of providing access to quality healthcare services free of cost to the general public, a mega health camp was jointly organized by the Dharmanagar Press Club and the Tripura Hepatitis Foundation. The camp was held on Friday, October 9, at the Vivekananda Sardha Shatabarshiki Bhavan in Dharmanagar.
Experienced specialist doctors from various medical departments attended the camp and provided free medical consultations to patients. More than a hundred people received healthcare services at the camp.The programme was attended by Dharmanagar MLA Jahar Chakraborty, Dharmanagar Sub-Divisional Magistrate Debjani Chowdhury, Hepatitis Foundation official Dibyajyoti Nath, Dharmanagar branch secretary Shibshankar Roy, and other distinguished personalities and officials. Dharmanagar Press Club President Buddh Bhushan Dey Sarkar, Secretary Rupak Debnath, and other members of the club were also present.The guests were welcomed and felicitated with traditional uttariyas. The health camp was then formally inaugurated by the dignitaries through the ceremonial watering of a tree.

Along with promoting environmental awareness and respect for nature, the initiative highlighted the importance of safeguarding public health.At the beginning of the programme, Dharmanagar Press Club President Buddh Bhushan Dey Sarkar delivered the welcome address. Subsequently, Dharmanagar MLA Jahar Chakraborty addressed the gathering. In his speech, he highlighted the importance of healthcare services and emphasized the significance of initiatives aimed at making medical facilities accessible to the general public.The health camp was attended by several specialist doctors, including Dr. Prasun Bhattacharya, Medicine Specialist; Dr. Sharmistha Chakraborty, Gynaecologist; Dr. Rahul M. Sharma (ILS), Urology Specialist; Dr. Krishnale Mahajan (ILS), Nephrology Specialist; and Dr. Niladri Debnath (ILS), Medicine Specialist. Several other specialist doctors also participated in the camp.The opportunity to consult specialists from different medical departments under one roof generated considerable interest among the local people.
Through the free medical consultations, many individuals had the opportunity to discuss their health-related concerns directly with experienced specialists.The initiative undertaken by the Dharmanagar Press Club is being viewed as a significant step towards raising public health awareness and providing free medical consultations to people in need.Those present expressed hope that similar public welfare initiatives would continue in the future. The mega health camp in Dharmanagar concluded with a message emphasizing the importance of health awareness, preventive care, and seeking timely medical attention to build a healthier society.
