Agartala, Tripura, 10th of October, 2026 : With the accused still at large three days after the attack on journalists, journalists staged a road blockade on Saturday (10th October, 2026) at Shyamali bazar, Kunjaban, Agartala, Tripura, demanding immediate police action.

During the demonstration, the protesting journalists issued a stern warning to the authorities, stating that they would launch a major agitation if the accused were not arrested within 48 hours. They stressed the need for prompt action to ensure justice and hold those responsible accountable.

The journalists also called for decisive intervention by the police, emphasising that the matter should not be treated lightly. Their protest reflected growing dissatisfaction among members of the media over the delay in making arrests.

Following the road blockade, police officials held discussions with the protesting journalists and assured them that necessary steps would be taken. The assurance helped ease tensions at the protest site.

After receiving assurances from the police, the journalists finally withdrew the blockade and restored traffic movement. However, they state that a larger agitation would be launched if the accused were not arrested within the stipulated 48-hour deadline.
