Dharmanagar, Tripura, 10th of October, 2026 : As nature adorns itself in the vibrant hues of autumn, accompanied by the fragrance of shiuli flowers, the gentle sway of kash flowers, and the enchanting melodies of Agomoni songs, Dharmanagar Town Kalibari came alive with festive fervour on the auspicious occasion of Mahalaya on Saturday (10th October, 2026). Welcoming the sacred beginning of Devipaksha, a grand Agomoni festival and an engaging cultural programme were organised at the temple premises.

With a harmonious blend of rhythmic dance, melodious music, and diverse cultural performances, the venue transformed into a wonderful gathering of joy and celebration. Students from various schools and educational institutions illuminated the stage with their talents. Their lively dance performances, melodious singing, and captivating presentations filled the hearts of the audience with unbounded festive joy.

Amid the sacred ambience of Mahalaya, every note of the Agomoni songs echoed the message of Goddess Durga’s arrival. Each melody carried the timeless faith, devotion, and emotions deeply rooted in Bengali culture. Set against the serene beauty of autumn, this devotional celebration rekindled the anticipation and enthusiasm associated with the grand festivities of Durga Puja.

Among those present at the programme were Jahar Chakraborty, MLA of the Dharmanagar Assembly constituency, social worker Kajal Das, and several other distinguished personalities. Their presence further enhanced the significance and grandeur of the occasion.Overall, the Agomoni festival at Dharmanagar Town Kalibari on the sacred morning of Mahalaya was much more than a cultural programme.

Through the enchanting combination of dance, music, and devotion, it became a joyous celebration heralding the arrival of the festive season. As Devipaksha commenced, the melodies of the festival echoed the familiar call cherished by every Bengali heart—“Maa is coming, and the days of joy are arriving.”
