Chief Minister Of Tripura Dr. Manik Saha Inaugurates Ranjitnagar Water Body Beautification Project.

Agartala, Tripura, 10th of October, 2026 :  The State Government has taken special initiative to launch Vande Bharat Express from Agartala. Currently the state is experiencing a wave of development in connectivity, education, sports, agriculture etc. fields. Apart from building infrastructure for the convenience of the people of the state, the government has undertaken reformative works as well. Hon’ble Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha said this after inaugurating the newly accomplished beautification project of Ranjitnagar water body under AMC Ward no. 14 on Saturday (10th October, 2026).

Addressing as the chief guest on the occasion the Chief Minister said, besides developmental works, the government is working towards reclamation of old culture. Various water bodies in AMC area are being reclaimed and beautified. He said, to serve an area, society and people, proper planning and implementation is required. In the past no reformative work was done in Agartala Municipal Corporation area.

Alongside striding for development works, the government aims at ensuring socio-economic development of women. Women of the state are being linked with self-help groups for making them self-reliant. At the same time skill programme are being implemented for women. In order to help youth find alternative source of livelihood, they are being helped in building start-up ventures based on the locally available raw materials. So far 2.5 lakh entrepreneurs have set up their own businesses in the state.

The Chief Minister said, the economic development of the people of the state is being reflected in the rising GSDP which is at the second position in the Northeast. He said, due to the beautification of water bodies in AMC area, a healthy and beautiful environment is emerging and a permanent system has developed for preserving water. Already a multi-level car parking has been built at the Old Motorstand to address the traffic jam in Agartala city. To deal with the traffic jam in the city, one more flyover and a ring road will be constructed. He said, the country has found stability since 2014 and it is now moving ahead rapidly on the path of development. That stability must be maintained for the interest of development. In the state also peace and harmony should be maintained for continuous development.

Speaking on the occasion as a special guest Hon’ble Mayor of AMC and MLA Dipak Majumder said, with the beautification of Ranjitnagar water body a long pending demand of the people has been fulfilled. He said the AMC is working to fulfill demand of each resident of Agartala city.

Hon’ble Deputy Mayor Manika Das Datta and Chairman of AMC Central Zone Ratna Datta graced the event as guest of honour. Welcome address was delivered by the Commissioner of Agartala Municipal Corporation Saju Vaheed A.

Vote of thanks was proposed by Corporator of ward no. 14 Snigdha Das Dey. The Ranjitagar water body beautification project has incurred an expenditure of Rs. 1.49 crore. A memento was presented to the Chief Minister on behalf of Sanjog Club and local people. A documentary on the beautification project was also screened there.
