Sabroom, Tripura, 14th of October 2026: Class VII Student Allegedly Rendered Unconscious in Sabroom; Man and Woman on Red Scooter Spark Concern. Serious concerns over child safety have emerged in the small town of Sabroom after a Class VII student of Sabroom Higher Secondary School allegedly fell unconscious when a man and a woman reportedly held an object resembling a handkerchief or tissue paper near his nose. The incident has triggered widespread concern across Sabroom, leaving parents and guardians worried about the safety of children. The allegation has raised questions about child security, with residents expressing concern over the reported incident involving the duo travelling on a red scooter.

According to Shimul Bikash De, Assistant Headmaster of the school, a young man and a young woman arrived on a red scooter in front of the school gate at around 2:10–2:15 p.m. yesterday. They reportedly spoke with students and took selfies on their mobile phones. After some time, the duo allegedly returned to the school and held an object resembling a handkerchief or tissue paper near the nose of Ankush Ghosh, a Class VII student. The student reportedly felt dizzy and fell unconscious shortly afterwards. When other students informed the teachers about the incident, the accused allegedly fled the scene.

As part of the investigation, Sabroom Police visited the school today and spoke with the Assistant Headmaster, the student and his mother. CCTV footage from various locations is being examined to establish the sequence of events. However, it has not yet been confirmed whether the incident was an attempted kidnapping or whether the object allegedly held near the student’s nose contained any chemical or medicinal substance.

Questions are being raised over how such an incident could have occurred in front of the school gate during school hours and what measures are in place to ensure students’ safety. Any negligence concerning child safety is unacceptable. There are growing demands for an impartial investigation to establish the facts and for strict legal action against those responsible if the allegations are substantiated.

Until the police investigation confirms whether the incident involved an attempted kidnapping or the use of any specific substance, it would be more responsible from a journalistic standpoint to use the phrase “Alleged Attempted Kidnapping” in the headline. The child’s privacy should also be respected when deciding whether to publish his full name or family details.
