On the occasion of the 153rd birth anniversary of the father of nation cleanliness drive programme has been started in different areas of the state. On this auspicious occasion of 153rd birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, 71 BN CRPF organized special ‘Swachh Bharat Abhiyan’ in and around Kherengbar Hospital area under TTAADC Khumulwng. Special “SWACHHTA Abhiyan 2.0”, was carried out under the supervision of Ram Palat, Commandant 71 BN CRPF. On this occasion Swachhta pledges were taken by officers and jawans from all ranks and files enthusiastically participated in this cleanliness drive. The Swachh Bharat Abhiyan aims to educate local population about living hygienic and healthy lifestyle and to eliminate open defecation, eradicate manual scavenging, introduce modern solid waste management and promote a positive attitude towards healthy sanitation practices. The drive was warmly welcomed and appreciated by the local population.
