Tripura Itself Represents The Spirit Of Unity In Diversity : Governor Of Tripura Indrasena Reddy Nallu.

Agartala, Tripura, 2nd of October, 2026 :  The 13 Tripura Battalion NCC, under the aegis of the NCC Directorate, North Eastern Region, organised the Bir Bikram Ekta Camp–2026 at at the A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Auditorium of Tripura Institute of Technology (TIT), Narsingarh, Agartala on Friday (2nd October, 2026), with a focus on national integration, cultural exchange, youth development and leadership.

The inaugural programme was graced by Shri Indra Sena Reddy Nallu, Hon’ble Governor of Tripura, as the Chief Guest, who addressed the participating NCC cadets and encouraged them to uphold the values of discipline, unity, patriotism and social responsibility.

On arrival at the venue, the Hon’ble Governor was received by the Commanding Officer, 13 Tripura Battalion NCC, followed by a ceremonial Guard of Honour presented by NCC cadets at the TIT lawns.

A special Weapon Display by 35 Assam Rifles was also organised at the TIT campus. The display familiarised NCC cadets with military equipment and aspects of the professional functioning of the Armed Forces. The demonstration generated considerable interest among the cadets and provided them with an opportunity to gain practical awareness of military equipment and service life.

During the inaugural ceremony, the programme included a Welcome Address, National Song, ceremonial lighting of the lamp, patriotic presentation and folk-cultural performances by NCC cadets. A short film highlighting the objectives and activities of the Bir Bikram Ekta Camp was also screened.

Brig Nishant Chandel, Commander, 21 Sector Assam Rifles, addressed the gathering and highlighted the importance of discipline, teamwork, national service and youth participation in nation-building.

Addressing the gathering, Governor Nallu described Tripura as a jewel of the North East and highlighted the state’s natural beauty, rich cultural heritage and tradition of communal harmony. “Tripura is a land of breathtaking natural beauty, with its rolling hills, lush green forests and serene lakes. It is also a land of rich cultural heritage, where the vibrant traditions of the indigenous communities blend beautifully with the warmth of Bengali culture,” he said. The Governor said the people of Tripura are known for their hospitality, resilience and deep sense of community. Referring to Agartala and the state’s historical and religious heritage, he said that the temples, festivals and traditions of Tripura reflect the diverse cultural character of India.

Governor Nallu said Tripura itself represents the spirit of unity in diversity, with different communities having lived together in harmony for generations. He reminded the cadets that the NCC uniform represents much more than their participation in a youth organisation. He called upon the cadets to become ambassadors of unity after returning to their respective schools, colleges and communities. The Governor encouraged the cadets to dream big and actively participate in India’s development journey. He referred to the country’s progress in areas such as digital innovation, space exploration, infrastructure development and social welfare. Governor Nallu particularly appreciated the 13 Tripura Battalion NCC for organising the Bir Bikram Ekta Camp and the Special National Integration Camp.

The cultural programme added further vibrancy to the occasion, with NCC cadets presenting traditional and patriotic performances reflecting the diverse cultural heritage of India. The performances showcased the talent of the cadets and reinforced the central message of national integration and mutual respect.

The Bir Bikram Ekta Camp–2026 is bringing together NCC cadets from different regions and communities, providing them with opportunities to experience the rich cultural diversity of the country while developing friendship, confidence, leadership qualities and a sense of national responsibility.

The programme concluded with the National Anthem and NCC Song, followed by the signing of the Visitor’s Book, group photograph and interaction over tea with the cadets.

The successful organisation of the programme by 13 Tripura Battalion NCC highlighted the important role of the National Cadet Corps in nurturing disciplined, responsible and socially conscious youth and strengthening the bonds of national unity among the younger generation.
