Review meeting of Agriculture Department in ADC.

Animesh Debbarma, executive member of the agriculture department, demanded that the funds allocated by the Center and the state government be transferred directly to the chief officer of the ADC agriculture department. Today, he said, the state government had handed over 6 agricultural subdivisions and 2 horticulture subdivisions to the ADC authorities in 2000. After the transfer, the Department of Agriculture in the state government not spent the ADC’s money as properly. Due to which ADC Agriculture Department cannot work independently for the development of farmers. As a result, it became impossible for the farmers living in the ADC area to become self-sufficient. Meanwhile, executive member Sri Debbarma has written to the secretary, director and minister of the state government’s agriculture department. He further said that ADC has no power to expand the irrigation project. He sought assistance from the state and central governments in developing agriculture. After the ADC Steering Committee came to power, the activities of the 2020-2021 financial year and what steps can be taken for the development of agriculture in the next financial year.

A review meeting was held on the issue at the conference hall of the Chief Officer’s Office of the Department of Agriculture. Animesh Debbarma, executive member of the agriculture department, presided over the review meeting. The meeting was attended by the Chief Officer of the Department of Agriculture and other Agriculture Officers. Animesh Debbarma further said that the administrator was in charge of running the ADC. Not spent the money as properly. He said that no money will be tolerated now. Emphasizes on doing the right thing at the right time. Seeds, seedlings should reach the farmer in time. Delayed seeds, seedlings are received by the farmer, so the farmer will not get good yield by planting those seeds and seedlings, he remarked. The yield produced by the farmers is the tool to strengthen the economy. So he instructed the officials to create new projects to improve agriculture. He also emphasizes corpus and others cultivation in the hills.
