3 Wards (5, 21 & 46) of Agartala Municipal Corporation (AMC) declared containment zones.

According to the report of the Health Department, Covid-19 infection has increased in Wards 5, 21 and 46 of Agartala AMC area. Therefore, Raval Hamendra Kumar, IAS, District Magistrate & Collector of West Tripura, has declared all areas of Wards 5, 21 and 46 as containment zones to control the movement of people inside and outside the affected areas under the powers conferred by the Disaster Management Act. The restrictions are as follows

  1. Under no circumstances there shall be any ingress/ outgress of any person or vehicle from the containment Zone at any time of the day except for persons/vehicles involved in the enforcement of containment plan and maintaining essential services including medical emergencies.
  2. Every person residing within or entering the containment Zone shall wear a face cover/mask.
  3. All shops, establishments, Parks shall remain closed within the containment zone except Grocery Shops (Provisional stores), medical shops & diary booths. These essential shops will remain open from 5 AM to 6 PM in compliance with the timings of curfew already in force.
  4. The movement of the Residents or persons of the ward shall be restricted. Within ward movement will be allowed only for purchasing of essential commodities only form the shop opened within the ward.
  5. All roads within the wards shall remain closed except the road leading from GB Bazar to Circuit House (Main Road), the road leading from GB Bazar to Dhaleswar via ITI, Indranagar, Road from GB Bazar to Banikya Chowmuhani and Road from GB Bazar to Old Motor Stand via Abhoynagar (in respect of Ward No. 5). Agartala Sabroom Road NH-08 (in respect of Ward No 46) and Assam Agartala Road, Road from Shibnagar Modern Club to Kalyani via PN Deb Road (in respect of Ward No. 21)
  6. Assembly of two or more people shall not be allowed within the ward areas and SP West shall maintain close surveillance to enforce these restrictions within and at entry and exit points (Naka Points). He shall ensure that public movement would be allowed only for purchasing essential goods within ward. He shall also provide for necessary barricading and deployment of police personnel to ensure adequate security.
  7. The movement of people engaged in maintaining essential services will be allowed into and outside these wards only after producing valid ID Card to the security personnel deployed at the entry gate of the containment zone.
  8. Supply of essential goods shall be through the vendors identified by AMC for General Purchase by residents of concerned area.
  9. Sanitization in the containment one shall be done at regular intervals of time by AMC.
  10. In order to contain further spread of COVID-19, it is compulsory to test at least 1(one) member from each family besides the ILI/ARI cases & contact person the positive patient.
  11. DWS will ensure proper water supply through water tankers in any emergency situation.
  12. TSECL will ensure regular electricity supply and keep its fault rectification team on standby for emergency situation.
  13. CMO West will ensure implementation of all protocols prescribed by MoHFW in containment zone.
  14. The SDM Sadar shall erect barricades/ Check Points & sheds with other logistics so as to conducive to maintain Containment Zone properly.

This order shall come into effect from 5 AM 13/05/2021 and shall remain in force till 6PM on 22/05/2021.

Any person contravening this order shall be liable for prosecution under section 69,270 and 188 of IPC 1860, sections 51-60 of Disaster Management Act 2005.
