Khowai, 5th of July 2024 : With the initiative of Khowai Forest Department Vanmahotsav 2024 celebration has been conducted at Khowai on Friday (5th July, 2024). This event was organized on the occasion of World Environment Day. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, on 30th June, highlighted the ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ campaign, launched on World Environment Day. He appealed to citizens and people worldwide to participate in the tree plantation initiative with their mothers, celebrating both motherhood and the environment. Amidst the other distinguished participants there were Officer of Forest department Prashanta Deb, Pradhan of Paschim Chebri Gram Panchayat Shripad Shil Officials of forest department along with villagers was present at the event. On this day, more than one hundred different types of saplings are planted.
