Kolkata, 9th of August, 2024 : Former West Bengal Chief Minister and Communist Leader Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee passed away in Kolkata at the age of 80 on Thursday (8th August, 2024). He had been suffering from respiratory problems and had frequent hospitalisations.

Large number of people gathered on Friday (9th August, 2024) to paid their last respects to former West Bengal Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee at the CPI(M)’s state headquarters in Kolkata. Chief Minister of West Bengal Mamata Banerjee, Former CM of Tripura & Member of Politburo, CPI(Marxist) Manik Sarkar, MP Abhishek Banerjee and many others remained present.
