Khowai, Tripura, 1st of October, 2024 : In the last 72 hours in Khowai district, the police launched an anti-drug operation in two police station areas with successfully seized. Police have arrested a total of five youths from outside the state for destroying ganja plantations, seizing ganja from cars.Khowai District Superintendent of Police Dr. Ramesh Kumar Yadav held a press conference and told the media that the police have cut and destroyed about 10,000 ganja trees in a total area of 5 acres in Belfang of Khowai police station and Golap Para area of Kalyanpur police station.

The police recovered packets of dry marijuana after searching the passenger vehicle in Teliamura and Mungiakami police station areas. Also arrested five youth from Bihar state. The police have registered a case against them under the NDPS Act. Khowai District Superintendent of Police Dr. Ramesh Kumar Yadav, and Khowai District Additional Superintendent of Police Prabir Paul were present in the press conference today.
