International Yoga Day To Be Celebrated at Hapania, International Exhibition Ground On June 21.

Agartala, Tripura, 4th of June, 2025 : On 21 June at 7:00 AM, 11th International Yoga Day will be celebrated at the International Exhibition Ground in Hapania, Agartala, Tripura. This state-level event is expected to attract around 3,000 participants, including students from different schools and colleges, NCC and NSS members, Nehru Yuva Kendra volunteers, NGOs, clubs, social organizations, Scouts and Guides, and paramilitary personnel. Additionally, Yoga Day will be observed at different district, sub-division, and block levels.

A meeting of the conveners of nine sub-committees at the Department of Youth Affairs and Sports regarding the Yoga Day celebration, Satyabrata Nath, the Director of the Department, shared this information. The meeting was attended by Joint Director Paimang Mog and officials from the BSF, CRPF, NCC, police, Information and Cultural Affairs, Tripura School Sports Board, AYUSH, NSS, Tripura Sports School, National Health Mission, School Education, the Traffic Department, and others.

Director announced that as part of the International Yoga Day celebration, a state-level Yogasana competition for boys and girls under 17 years will be held on June 20 at the NSRCC Yoga Hall. The top three winners in both boys’ and girls’ categories will be felicitated during the main event on 21 June. He also mentioned that initiatives have been organized to conduct cleanliness drives and blood donation camps at every district, sub-division, and block level. A blood donation camp will also take place at the International Exhibition Ground following the main event on 21 June

Furthermore, the Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Department will set up exhibition stalls featuring millet-based foods at the main venue and in different districts. To ensure the smooth and peaceful conduct of International Yoga Day, a 24-member state-level organizing committee has been formed, chaired by Youth Affairs and Sports Minister Tinku Roy. A 10-member district-level organizing committee has also been constituted, with the chairpersons of the respective Zilla Parishads serving as chairpersons. Additionally, a 12-member executive organizing committee has been formed, led by Dr. Pradip Kumar Chakraborty, Secretary of the Department of Youth Affairs and Sports, Alongside these, nine sub-committees are in place to assist with the event.
