Belonia, Tripura, 4th of June, 2025: With the initiative of Tripura State Electricity Corporation Limited has been conducted Prime Minister Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana Camp at Belonia, Tripura on Wednesday (4th June, 2025). In the presence of many dignitaries Hon’ble Power, Agriculture & Farmers’ Welfare Minister Ratan Lal Nath has inaugurated a mega camp, to generate more awareness and registration under PM-Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana.

Addressing at the inauguration ceremony of PM-Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana Camp Hon’ble Power, Agriculture & Farmers’ Welfare Minister Ratan Lal Nath said that the ‘Prime Minister Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana Camp’ will help in saving electricity and increasing one’s own family income. He urged everyone to take advantage of this scheme and said that the main objective of this scheme is to enable residential families to generate their own electricity using the roof of their houses.

Highlighting the occasion, the Power, Agriculture & Farmers’ Welfare Minister also added that as an alternative to natural gas, the Government has come up with the solar-powered Prime Minister Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana. Under this project, domestic customers can install plants up to 10 kW in their homes. There is a Government subsidy of up to 3 kW. The maximum subsidy is Rs 85,800. Customers can install the project on the roof, tin roof or yard of their homes through online or registered organizations of their choice. In this case, if there is no one-time money arrangement, there is also a bank loan arrangement. Even though the project is ongoing, the Government subsidy will be available until March 2027. In addition, the installation of this project will not cause any harm to the environment along with saving electricity. Therefore, he appealed to everyone to take advantage of this project.

Amidst the other distinguished dignitaries there were Rajnagar Panchayat Samiti Chairman Biswajit Nath, Social activist Dipayan Chowdhury, Joydeep Sarkar, PM-Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana Nodal Officer Shishir Debbarma, Additional General Manager (Circle-Belonia) of Tripura State Electricity Corporation Ltd. Kanti Dey, officials of Electricity department and may other distinguished dignitaries were present in the event. According to sources a total of 57 customers registered at the camp to take advantage of this project.
