Agartala, Tripura, 9th of July, 2025 : State Level Mock Drill Exercise on Flood & Landslide by National Disaster Management Authority at Multipurpose Hall of Hapania Fair Ground, Agartala, Tripura on Wednesday (9th July, 2025). Today, a drill on dealing with landslides and floods was held in West Tripura district along with the entire state. The main mega drill was held in Agartala. The stage area for this drill was the multipurpose hall of the Hapania Fair Ground premises.

According to report around 1500 people including the district administration, fire and emergency services, NDRF, SDRF, Public Works Department, Assam Rifles, drinking water, health, police, electricity, BSF, CRPF, NSS, NCC jawans were present in this staging area at 7:30 am. Later, everyone reached the specified drill site from there. Today, West Tripura District Magistrate and Collector Dr. Vishal Kumar held a press conference at the West Tripura District Magistrate’s office and informed about this.

Major General Sudhir Bahl (Retd.) Lead Consultant (IR & ME) National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) and Secretary of Revenue Brijesh Pandey visited the exercise. Also present at the staging area and exercise venue were West Tripura Magistrate of Dr. Vishal Kumar, Sub-Divisional Magistrate and senior officers of the department.

The District Magistrate said that the exercise was held at a total of 12 places in West Tripura district. Out of these, the landslip exercise was held at Don Bosco School in Mandai Block, Satish Brick Field in Belbari Block and Subal Singh in Hejamara Block. The exercise on flood management was held at Purba Noagaon, Gamcha Cobra Village, Barjala Binapani Higher Secondary School, Radhachara Panchayat, Bhagalpur Gram Panchayat Lake, Vidyasagar Lake, Anandnagar Boat Park, MBB College Lake and IGM Hospital. IGM Hospital was turned into a nodal hospital during this exercise. He said that the exercise was successfully completed with the efforts of every jawan and officer and all those present.
